Cloud Server Provisioning
A new server built to a spec, rather than clicked together in a provider console and never looked at again. We size it with you, build it, and hand over a machine that already has named users, keys, a closed firewall, a monitoring agent and a backup schedule on it.
What you get
- One server provisioned on your own cloud account, in the region you pick, so the machine and the bill stay yours
- Named accounts with SSH keys, password and root login disabled, sudo granted only where it is needed
- Firewall defaults that close everything except the ports you asked for
- Monitoring agent and nightly backup schedule installed and confirmed working before handover
- A handover document: what is on the machine, how to reach it, and what to do when it stops
What this does not cover
- What the server costs to run. The bill from your cloud provider is yours and is not part of this price
- Migrating an existing site, application or database onto it
- Running it afterwards — patching, answering the monitoring and handling incidents all live in a hosting tier
- A full hardening pass. These are sensible defaults, not Server Security Hardening Baseline in Security and risk
Who it fits
A team with an engineer who will own the machine afterwards, or a one-off box that needs building once and building right. If you want us to keep running it, Foundation Managed Hosting at $100 a month includes the build, and buying both pays for the same provisioning twice.
