DevOps Automation Retainer
A standing monthly allocation of engineering time for the infrastructure around your application rather than the application itself — environments, pipelines, infrastructure described as code, release automation, and the alerting that tells you when one of them has failed. You keep a queue in priority order; we work it each month and leave everything we build in your repository.
What you get
- A fixed engineering allocation each month, agreed in writing before the first month and stated on the retainer
- Infrastructure and environments described as code and committed to your repository, not held in our heads
- Pipeline, environment and release automation work taken from a queue you prioritize
- A monthly report: what was automated, what is still queued, and what we would do next
- Everything we build documented and left with you, so ending the retainer does not strand you
What this does not cover
- Unlimited work. The allocation is fixed per month. Unworked time does not roll into the next month, and a queue that outruns the month continues in the following one rather than arriving as an extra invoice.
- Application code. This is the infrastructure around it; the code itself is the Application Maintenance Retainer or a Bug Fix Block.
- Cloud, hosting and CI bills. We build and operate the automation; the resources it consumes stay on your accounts and are billed to you.
- An on-call rota. There is no response-time commitment attached to this retainer — priority incident response is a separate service under Security and risk.
Who it fits
An organization with several environments and a continuous stream of infrastructure work that nobody has time for. If what you really have is one repository that needs a pipeline once and then left alone, the CI/CD Pipeline Setup does exactly that for $540 one-time — less than a single month of this.
